Reinforced concrete constructions

Reinforced concrete constructions

Reinforced concrete constructions are structures in which the main construction material is reinforced concrete. Concrete, despite its compressive strength, is weak when it comes to tension. Therefore, in order to increase its resistance to tension and twisting, steel reinforcement in the form of rods, nets or mats is used. Steel rods are placed inside the mould and then filled with concrete. After binding, concrete and steel create a robust structure capable of carrying significant loads both vertically and horizontally.
